Class Experience

In this one-time class, we will learn about the Jewish holiday of Hanukkah through story, song, instrument play & creative movement. We will learn about symbols of the holiday such as the dreidel and menorah, as well as delicious Hanukkah treats such as latkes and sufganiyot. Learners of any background are welcome in this class. Please gather up any instruments you have around the home (bells, shakers, drums, etc). Simple craft instructions for Hanukkah-related crafts will be posted in the classroom after class.
Songs we will sing: I have a little dreidel, S'vivon (about spinning dreidels), Hanukkah oh Hanukkah
Stories we will read (one story per one-time class - you can repeat the class to have a different story included):
1. Dinosaur on Hanukkah by Diane Levin Rauchwerger
2. Hoppy Hanukkah! by Linda Glaser
3. Hanukkah, oh Hanukkah by Susan L. Roth
This class will be taught from a secular and educational perspective in keeping with Outschool's policies.

Profile
Teacher expertise and credentials
Reading about my qualifications alone won't tell you who I am, but it's a good starting point. I have a MMus. in Violin Performance, B.Mus. in Violin Performance, and BA in French. I have been teaching for over 30 years and thankfully still love it!

I currently offer violin, viola, piano, French, and Hebrew classes. My educational philosophy is guided by the main principle of my 25 years as a licensed Kindermusik educator: "Follow the child" - if learners are engaged and having fun, not only will they retain the information but they will want to learn and progress more!
