Beginner - Intermediate Level
In this fun, ongoing first grade math class students will practice first grade math concepts each week. They will practice extending their counting sequence to 100, writing numbers to 100, recognizing place value, solving addition and subtraction problems within 20. They will practice the concepts of greater than, less than and equal. They will practice telling and writing time to the nearest hour and half hour. This class is ongoing and will cover a variety of math concepts ea. week but also focus on the learners needs so content will vary each class but will always cover the math concepts listed above. You can enroll at anytime even if you didn’t attend the previous classes. Each class will be a fun interactive way for students to practice a variety of math skills while having fun with other students. This class will be conducted in a warm, fun and interactive setting allowing the students to learn along with their peers. Students enrolling should know and be able to count to and recognize numbers through 20 and know basic kindergarten math concepts such as adding and subtracting with in 10.
Learning Goals
Students will practice addition and subtraction within 20, to count numbers through 100, grouping of 10’s and 1’s, as well as other first grade math concepts.

Hello! I’m Teacher Sheila.
I’ve been teaching both children and adults for over 20 years.
I have a Bachelors Degree in education, I’m TESOL certified and I’m homeschool certified as well.
I am currently teaching English online to children in China. I also offer classes in Common Core subjects Online in the US as well.
I have home schooled all five of my children, 4 have graduated 12th grade and I’m currently working with my last kid who will be starting High School this year.
I am so very passionate about teaching that I even spend much of my free time in volunteer work teaching others. My goal is to instill in my students a lifelong love of learning.
In fact I believe in learning so much that I am always involved continuing education myself, whether it be in foreign language, improving my teaching techniques and even weekly public speaking classes.
