Class Experience

Bonjour! 
France is famous for many things, their great food, the Eiffel Tower and their language. Today we will be learning about another thing France is famous for, French artists. Claude Monet was a famous French artist who broke barriers by painting in a brand new way that we know as impressionism. 
In this class we will be looking at and discussing a few of Monet's more famous paintings, learning how impressionism was viewed at the time, and who are a few other famous impressionist...

My goal is to teach children that history is exciting and they can experience it in more ways than just reading it in a book!

With 4 kids we do a lot of educational crafts. I love to teach my kids and others what some may find boring in a fun and unique hands on way.

A small piece of cardboard to cut into a shape of a lily pad, and craft paper, a brown grocery bag or even brown construction paper will work for the flowers. I highly recommend using Crayola's Slick Sticks for this project, it is a great alternative for oil pastels and rated for kids 3 and up. A pencil will also be needed to draw the outline of our lily pad and flowers.

40 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.

We will be using scissors to cut cardboard and craft paper/brown paper bags.
