In this multi-course class, students will learn how to read a crochet pattern in order to make a simple washcloth. This course is designed for absolute beginners, just learning how to crochet. This class also shows the very basic stitches of crocheting - with mastering these stitches, students will be ready to take on more complex patterns! The first lesson will be about the absolute basics: how to hold the crochet hook and how to do the basic stitches that are often used in crocheting. We will learn how to do a slipknot, the chain stitch and the single crochet stitch. The second lesson will be about taking what we have learned in the first lesson and building on that, making several chain stitches and single crochet stitches in order to crochet a simple washcloth. This class is very hands on, and there will be plenty of references. I will show how to do each stitch slowly, so that it is easier to understand.
