Class Experience

In this class, we will be weaving a cute Easter egg basket for our Easter eggs. This craft is a great project for learners to practice their fine motor skills and enhance eye coordination.

I will guide students to complete their projects through a step-by-step demonstration. A template will be provided for students to print out on colored papers and brought to class. Students will have opportunities to ask questions and interact as we complete our crafts. It is a challenging project to work on but very fun to complete. In the end, students willing to display their woven baskets with the class are welcome to do so.

This class uses scissors. Parental guidance is recommended depending on your learner's ability and age.

Welcome Outshoolers!

My name is Dalen, and I am excited about the opportunity to be part of your child’s learning journey! I hold an MPhil in Sociology and a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Social Work.

I love to engage with kids through stories because I believe storytelling is a powerful tool to teach and inspire curiosity.
I enjoy learning and teaching about the different cultures that make up our world. I offer classes in history, social studies, geography, life skills, and arts & crafts. I’ll describe my teaching style as interactive, supportive, and engaging.

On a personal note, I grew up in Ghana, West Africa. If I’m not spending time telling Ananse stories to my kids, I enjoy baking healthy treats and experimenting with food from around the world.

Join me as we discover the beauty of our world through captivating stories, food, art & crafts, and much more. I look forward to helping your child on their learning journey. See you in the classroom!
