View different ways of decorating eggs, including: using traditional dyes from tea, flowers, onion skins, and walnuts. Discuss different types of eggs used from geese, ducks, hens, and ostriches. Talk about some fun egg games, including: egg treasure hunts, Easter egg rolls, egg tapping, and even egg dancing! After this lively conversation, learners will design their own Easter egg drawings. Teaching has always been a passion of mine since I was a little girl. My mom taught at a bilingual elementary school in the South Bronx. I always admired the way she spent countless hours preparing for classes and the way she loved her job. I knew I wanted to follow in her footsteps.
Most of my eight years of teaching has been in the museum education field. I have taught hands-on arts classes in science, art, and history museums in Florida and Massachusetts, as well as abroad in Costa Rica.
I live in Florida with my husband and our cat, Patrick. I have a B.A. in Art History degree as well as a B.A. in Spanish from the University of Florida. Additionally, while I was working in a history museum in Boston, I took evening classes in Art Education at Harvard.
I believe that learning should always be engaging and fun. My experience has taught me that most children learn and retain information the best when the lesson is hands-on. My classes have educational topics that incorporate an arts and crafts activity.
I look forward to the opportunity to teach your children in a fun and creative way. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me.
