Each week, our class will open up with a fun introductory question. At the beginning of each month, we will preview our latest book. We will make predictions based on the cover, and I will read aloud the first section to the class. Students will generate questions about what they wonder and discuss how the author is building suspense. Next, we will set a reading pace for the rest of the month. Reading assigned chapters for the book. This is not meant to be burdensome, simply to add to the discussion. If a student doesn't quite finish the chapters a certain week, they are still welcome to listen and learn!0 - 1 hours per week outside of class

Students should be able to read at a late-elementary school to middle-school reading level.
Monthly book (will be introduced each month).
The content of the books will be "scary," but I will read each book beforehand to make sure that the content is age-appropriate for our readers. I am always happy to address any concerns you have with a book and pivot if needed.
We will read one book per month that students will need to find at a library, access online, or purchase.
