Impress your friends and get your cookie decorating game on point! In this 5 week flex course we will learn different techniques of royal icing like the basics of flooding cookies, "wet on wet," royal icing transfers, and marble techniques. This is an ideal class for someone who loves baking and art! We aren't just decorating yummy cookies we are taking our design skills to the next level. Each week I will post a video on Monday with a complete demonstration of the scheduled icing...
Students will learn 5 specific royal icing techniques: flooding, wet on wet, how to apply dry layers, royal icing transfers, and creating various textures. Not familiar with these terms?? No worries! You will learn it all in this 5 week course. In week 1 we will start with the very basics of how the icing is made and the right consistency is achieved and by week 5 you will know other intermediate decorating techniques. Your holiday cookies this fall will be sure to impress!

0Royal icing ingredients used each week (you will be able to save some icing from week to week) -Meringue powder (found at walmart of online). There is no substitute for this ingredient. -Powdered sugar (2lb bag) -Vanilla or other flavoring (optional) -Water -Food coloring Cookies: Most weeks you will need prepared cut out sugar cookies to practice your techniques on. You can also take "let's bake sugar cookies" in preparation for this class if you would like. A basic sugar cookie recipe will be made available during the class. Please note that instruction is only offered for decorating and not for baking during this class. Tools/supplies: -Mixer -spatula -spoons - Tipless Piping bags (rubber bands or clips to seal the top) -Bowls to mix icing - Cup (for filling icing) Other supplies may be needed or optional and will be posted on a weekly basis.
