Class Experience

Are you ready to get into the holiday spirit? Well, what better way than getting to express your joy for the upcoming spooky holiday then getting to have fun drawing with oil pastels. In this one time class, your little artist will get to draw up a fun spooky art piece. In this class, we will get to take a vote on three different oil pastels, as seen in the profile picture. We have a haunted house, a cat in the moon, and a pumpkin piece. Look carefully and you will see a pumpkin in the tree of the cat in the moon oil pastel piece. I love to see creativity in my students. In this class, your learner will get to express themselves artistically. I encourage them to bring out their inner artist. This class will have directed art instruction. This means no videos, images, or presentations. I will walk your learner through each step live while your learner has fun talking with their instructor and peers!

Hello and welcome everyone! Let me start with how thrilled I am to have you here. I teach a range of different classes, which include creative writing, ESL, baking, arts, and crafts. I am a firm believer in creativity, hands-on learning, and truly helping my students through their learning styles.
I have a bachelor’s in sociology and a minor in developmental psychology. Some of my passions are teaching ethnography, social studies, and research methods. I have over 19 years of experience working with children of all ages in multiple different settings. My most recent teaching experience over the last three years is with homeschooling, my three children. I am a certified ESL teacher and tutor and been working with children of all ages.
My philosophy for education is that all children are unique and need a stimulating educational environment where they can grow physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially. I desire to create this atmosphere where students can meet their full potential. I will provide a safe environment where students can share their ideas and take risks. I am passionate about my students and how I can help them learn something new. Learning is fun, and keeping a positive demeanor is what I love to encourage.
Some fun things about myself are that I love to paint both on canvas and digitally! I can sing you a tune or two and find singing, music, and art to be a fun way to encourage learning. Art and crafts are my specialties because I can use art to teach your child math, science, and writing.
