This class will answer questions such as: 1. What is the connection between Halloween and witches & black cats? 2. Why do we carve pumpkins for Halloween? 3. Students will discover and discuss the history and folklore of Halloween.
I have taught classes containing scary/creepy concepts as a public school teacher, home educator, homeschool co-op teacher, and Outschool teacher. I currently have classes about Edgar Allan Poe, H.P. Lovecraft, and women writers of horror on Outschool.
No mandatory homework will be assigned; however, I will provide suggested books and resources for those interested in learning more about the topics covered in this class.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Assessment will be done informally through class participation.
1 hour 25 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
There may be some scary Halloween stories or traditions discussed in this class.
