Class Experience

In this class, students never know what they will build next. Students will randomly choose a challenge from my Lego challenge cards. I will read the challenge and answer any questions students might have about the challenge. Then, students will have 5-10 minutes, depending on the challenge complexity to design and build. We will quickly share our designs with the group and then we will choose another challenge. We will complete as many challenges as we can during the 45 minutes. The goal is to have the students think through their ideas and quickly build their design. Creativity is encouraged! I also encourage students to send me their ideas of good future challenges. I am always open to suggestions!

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! Welcome to my classroom! I look forward to meeting you! I am a homeschooling mom of three. We are entering our 10th year of homeschooling. I love the freedom homeschooling gives us to develop our children's interests and work at their own pace.

I have a degree in Education with a minor in Psychology. Prior to homeschooling, I had a faculty position with the College of Family and Consumer Sciences Extension at the University of Georgia. I taught adults and children classes on child development, financial education, health, and food safety. I also have a TESOL (Teaching English as a Second Language) certification. I began teaching English online to children in China and Hong Kong in 2017 and still love to see my students online every morning. I love teaching online! It is so fun to build connections with students from all over the world. I love learning from them and discovering new things together.
