Class Description -Phonemic awareness: understanding sounds in words -Decoding: breaking down words into sounds and syllables -Word families and patterns -Sight words and high-frequency words -Reading fluency: reading with accuracy and expression -Comprehension strategies: understanding what is read In this class, students will learn essential reading skills through a multisensory approach that engages their auditory, visual, and kinesthetic senses. Key topics covered will include phonemic awareness, decoding, word families, sight words, reading fluency, and comprehension strategies. Students will learn to break down words into sounds and syllables, understand phonics rules, and recognize high-frequency words to boost reading confidence. Class Structure and Teaching Style The class is structured around interactive lessons that build skills step-by-step. Each lesson includes direct instruction, hands-on activities, and engaging games to reinforce learning. Students will participate in small group discussions, practice reading aloud, and work on exercises that improve both their decoding and comprehension. The teaching style is supportive, patient, and hands-on, with a focus on building confidence and fostering a love for reading. Interaction Students will interact with me during every lesson through guided practice, games, and one-on-one support. Expect frequent opportunities for questions, discussions, and feedback. Through activities like flashcards, storytelling, and role-play, students will engage directly with the content, helping them retain and apply what they’ve learned in real-world reading situations.
Learning Goals
Decode Words with Confidence: Students will learn to break down words into smaller, manageable parts (onsets, rimes, and syllables) to improve word recognition and pronunciation.
Understand Phonics Rules: They will gain a solid understanding of key phonics rules, including vowel sounds, consonant blends, and digraphs, allowing them to read unfamiliar words independently.

Greetings,
I am Ms.Iid. I have M.Ed as a reading specialist. As an elementary teacher by profession and a reading specialist by heart. I have taught first, second, and third grade for almost a decade. I have also served as a dyslexia specialist. I firmly believe that every child has the ability to become a proficient reader. I have witnessed firsthand the transformative power of effective reading instruction and its impact on students' confidence, academic success, and overall love for learning. My journey as an educator has led me to specialize in working with struggling readers, those who may be experiencing difficulties with fluency, decoding, phonemic awareness, blending, segmenting, and comprehension. I have made it my mission to understand the intricacies of reading instruction and to discover innovative strategies that engage and motivate students to develop strong reading skills.
Through personalized and interactive sessions, I will provide individualized support to students who need extra guidance in building their reading abilities. Whether your child is a beginning reader or struggling with specific reading challenges, I am dedicated to tailoring my instruction to their unique needs, helping them gain confidence and excel in their reading journey.
My goal is not only to address immediate reading difficulties but also to equip students with the essential tools and strategies that will foster a lifelong love for reading. I strongly believe that with the right support and a nurturing learning environment, every child can succeed in mastering the reading framework.
I invite you to join me on this educational journey, where we can work together to unlock your child's full potential as a reader. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or to discuss how I can best support your child's reading goals.
Thank you for considering my tutoring services, and I look forward to the opportunity to guide your child towards reading success.
Warm regards,
Ms. Iid
