In this one time class, students will practice reading long vowel Magic e (CVCe) words in isolation and sentences to help build their fluency. Fluency is the ability to read words with automaticity, accuracy, and expression. Readers who don't read fluently often can have reading comprehension difficulties. This class is great for 1st grade or 2nd grade students. Students should have some exposure to reading magic e words (like, smile, cake, shine, etc ) and sight (High Frequency) words. Sample Class Format: 1. Letter Sound Warm up 2: Blending and Segmenting CVCe words (ex: h-i-k-e ->hike) 3. Read a short decodable passage or book.
