US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - 1
In this class, your child will use their knowledge of letters and their sounds to help them read and write! We will primarily focus on reading and spelling short vowel words (CVC) in this class through fun and engaging activities such as phonics bingo, picture/word sorts, reading decodable texts, and other literacy activities and games! Students will improve their ability to read short vowel (Consonant-Vowel- Consonant, CVC) words through reviewing individual letters sounds and segmenting and blending sounds to read words.
I am a reading specialist trained in helping students learn to read and write. I have my Masters in Literacy and my Bachelors in Elementary Education. I am trained in a variety of phonic programs including the Orton-Gillingham approach.
Your child should have a dry-erase board and markers. Paper and markers is also fine.
