**Class Description: Pipa Instrument Class**

**What will be taught?**  
In this Pipa class, students will learn the fundamentals of playing the traditional Chinese instrument, the Pipa. We will cover the basics such as how to hold the instrument, plucking techniques, finger positioning, and reading simple musical scores. As students progress, we will delve into more complex techniques like tremolo, harmonics, and mastering famous traditional pieces. Each week will build on the previous one, with a focus on both technical skills and musical expression.

**How is the class structured?**  
The class is divided into weekly sessions:
- **Week 1**: Introduction to the Pipa, basic techniques (plucking and finger positioning), and simple scales.
- **Week 2**: Developing playing techniques (basic melodies) and reading traditional Pipa notation.
- **Week 3**: Introduction to traditional pieces, more advanced techniques (tremolo and string bending), and performance practice.
Throughout the course, students will practice both solo and group pieces, preparing them for potential performances.

**How will I teach?**  
My teaching style is hands-on and interactive, focusing on both technique and musicality. I strive to make learning the Pipa fun and engaging by breaking down complex techniques into manageable steps. Students will have plenty of opportunities to interact with me and each other, playing together and receiving personalized feedback. Each class will include demonstrations, practice sessions, and one-on-one guidance.

**Required experience or background knowledge?**  
No prior experience with the Pipa is required. This class is open to beginners and intermediate players alike. If you already have some experience, I will tailor lessons to your skill level to help you advance. The class will move at a steady pace, ensuring each student has time to master the basics before moving on to more challenging pieces.

**Pacing and support for late enrollments:**  
For students joining the class late, I will offer extra practice materials and individualized attention to bring them up to speed. Whether you're just beginning or have missed earlier sessions, I’ll ensure you feel comfortable and ready to catch up with the rest of the class. Late enrollees will have opportunities to review past lessons and receive additional guidance during practice sessions.
