In this 4-day course, we will learn basic ukulele chords, strumming patterns, and jam to some of our favorite tunes with our classmates!
Class experience
This class will involve all the basics of the ukulele so that students can tune, strum, and play their ukes with confidence! Day 1: Getting to know your instrument, learning C and G, and practice strumming - Parts of a ukulele -Names of the strings and frets -How to play 2 chords -Basic strumming and time signatures Day 2: Tuning your instrument, practicing strumming patterns, and learning F -How to tune your instrument -Strumming in 3/4 and 4/4 -Learn the F chord -Learn "You Are my...
Ms. Crocker has been playing music since she was 6 years old! She grew up with an opera singer for a mother, who handed her a ukulele for the first time on the beaches in California, where she grew up. After a childhood of experimenting with the instrument, she finally received official instruction in a college course. Since then, Ms. Crocker has shared her love of the instrument with students ages 6 to 60. She even organized a ukulele band at her local elementary school and hosted weekly jam sessions at the local library!
Students will need a standard ukulele they can play during this class with 4 working strings.
