Beginner Level
This class will give you a beginning structure to what it takes to go to law school, with access to a curated list of various websites to check out to begin your search into what it takes to become a lawyer. I try to give a realistic view of what you will find on this journey, but this class is only a launching point for you to do your own research as your specific facts will guide your journey. After the first video, which lays out the law school journey, I give you eight topics you will find in law school from the eight core classes studied in every law school (all of these topics are covered in my live Weekly class, so if you have taken that class, you will have seen these topics): Property Law - Lost-Misplaced-Abandoned Civil Procedure - Subject Matter Jurisdiction Criminal Procedure - What is an Unreasonable Search? Torts - Defamation Contracts - What is a Contract? Constitutional Law - Eminent Domain - Can the Government take your Land? Evidence - What is Relevant? Criminal Law - Larceny (Stealing) Each video comes with an outline to follow along with that will help really understand the topics I am teaching. I love teaching law because it elevates students' ability to think. I would argue (and yes, I'm biased!) that learning the law will accelerate your ability to learn in every way - even if you don't plan on becoming a lawyer.
Learning Goals
Expose students to the reality of the law school journey so as to make better decisions about their future.
Begin to learn to think like a lawyer by being exposed to actual topics studied by students in law school
