Class Experience

US Grade 9 - 12
In this Intro to Criminal Law class, students will learn about property crimes, such as larceny, embezzlement, false pretenses, robbery, extortion, etc.. The students will follow along a google slide presentation, which will begin with me lecturing about each element, followed by an open discussion question. During the open discussion questions, students will be given the opportunity to talk with each other about if the fact pattern meets the elements of the crime that was just taught. At the end of the class, there will be a longer fact pattern that the students will be able to determine which, if any, crime the defendant would be convicted of. Since this is part 5 of a series of criminal law classes, it is strongly recommended that the student take at least part 1 (elements of a crime) before taking this class.
