My goal with this 8 week course is to have your child familiar with the piano, recognizing and knowing the difference between quarter notes, half notes and whole notes. Being able to play with all fingers, knowing each note on the piano, and enjoying the ability to practice and play each song we will cover in our course.
I'm offering this beginner course in Piano because as a former musician it's essential to make sure to understand the basic theory and fundamentals of it before you can truly begin to play. I have over 14 years of experience in the piano and would love this opportunity to teach your children the fun facts about the piano and how the theory part can be fun. Lets get to playing!
Homework assigned will be determined at the end of each class. Each assignment will be individually based, and should take no more than 30 minutes a day. If there is any reading to be assigned I will determine the length of pages after each class.
I will be teaching from (Alfred's Basic Piano Library- Lesson Book 1A. Please be sure to purchase this book before class starts, as it will make it so much easier to follow alongduring each class.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
