Keyboard Songs, Music Moves for Piano, by Marilyn Lowe, Book A (a red book, best to find at MusicMovesforPiano.com, $20) A keyboard and a small area to move around in are required for this ongoing class. The keyboard should have at least 5 octaves, or 60 keys, and have touch sensitive or weighted keys. Students should also have an adjustable bench so they can sit at the correct height at the keyboard.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Young learners may need some guidance and help finding the keys and operating Zoom settings such as mute/unmute. Students should have Zoom configured so that they can "Use Original Sound"--otherwise your learner's playing will be filtered out as background noise by Zoom! Every class, we will begin with light stretching and movement to warm-up our bodies to play piano and our minds to play music!
