Beginner Level
In this class students will learn about the 12 basic emotions; happy, mad, sad, excited, surprised, scared, confused, shy, embarrassed, proud, curious, nervous. We will discuss in depth about each emotion and what they mean. We will learn about how to tell when someone else is feeling one of these emotions as well as how to tell we are feeling one of these emotions. To do this we will read books, play a matching game, discuss scenarios that are relatable to you child's life as well as create a book to keep, that supports your child in retaining their new knowledge. I believe the foundation to an emotionally resilient child is knowing how to name their emotions. They can not begin to work through those emotions until they know this basic knowledge.
