In this class I will be teaching the very basics of music theory to any learner who is interested! I will start by going over the staff, what learners can expect to see on the staff, and the names of the most popular staves. Then I will go over the notes (whole, half, quarter) and what they look like. With these notes, learners will practice drawing them on the staff and practice clapping the notes. I will end my class with a short trivia game to go over what we just learned. My class will be on Zoom and every learner will be muted while I instruct. However, I encourage questions and answers from learners. I will use the hand raising option that Zoom has to offer to keep answers and questions organized. My teaching style is interactive with learners. I ask them questions, engage in conversations as we get class started, encourage learning, and make sure every learner is comfortable and feels like they are involved. Learners should have fun and enjoy my class. No experience is required!
Learning Goals
I want every student to leave my class feeling like they learned something new and had fun. I want them to feel comfortable in themselves and in their new knowledge.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi there! My name is Hannah and I'm so excited to be teaching your learner. I am currently studying music education with hopes of teaching elementary-middle school. I have been singing since I was young and formally training for the past seven years. I have experience in teaching music, conducting music, and performing. My goal is for every learner to feel welcomed, confident, and comfortable. I want to share my love of music with your learner!
I currently offer classes for all ages. My classes are designed to mimic an in-school chorus class. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions and requests!
