US Grade Preschool - Pre-Kindergarten

Beginner Level

In this one time class, children will be introduced to the world of colors.  I will read a story that talks about the 3 primary colors: red, blue, yellow and how they can make other colors- such as orange, green and purple.  As I read about the colors, learners will experiment on their canvases or alternative painting surfaces- such as paper, canvas paper or even cardboard and create their own colors.  We  will cover all the colors of the rainbow, including shades of gray, pinks and other unique blends of colors that each child makes.... creating one-of-a-kind paintings!

I have a Master Degree in Early Childhood/Primary Education and a Bachelor Degree in Child Development, active in the field for several decades.  I am also a National Geographic Certified Educator, and certified to teach the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program (IB PYP). Also, I am TESOL certified, teaching English as a Second Language. I am the Founder of Connecting Children to Art in Nature; educational business  that offer children and families services to connect to nature in artful and eco-friendly formats and perspectives.  I create educational design and curriculum for youth and families for botanical gardens, children's schools, private and public settings, nature centers, as well as lecture in universities and colleges presenting professional development workshops for educators. My class offerings on Outschool are inspired by various pedagogies such as the Reggio-Emilia and Waldorf practices and place-based, best practices in environmental education.  I offer traditional art studio courses, art appreciation, art & nature-based classes & programs, and environmental education.
