Introduction to Ballet, Ages 6-9

This 1 week course is an introduction to the basics of ballet. It is perfect for the student who would like to learn the basics and build confidence before joining a live class.

Students will be given four videos during the week, to follow along with. After they feel confident in following along they can share a video to the classroom showing what they have learned. Feedback is always positive.  Share an exercise that you have seen before. I will give feedback and help with proper form and other students will also try it out! The videos are 9-14 minutes each. While the class can be taken without interaction, students will receive the fullest experience by creating and sharing the own videos with the teacher.

Video 1: Stretches on the Floor, Positions of the feet, Positions of the arms. Share a Stretch. 

Video 2: Plie, Tendue, Ronds de Jambe, Retire, Grand Battements. Share a slow exercise. 

Video 3: Saute, Echappe Saute, Marches for ballet, Galops, Skips, Polka's, Leaps. Share a fast exercise. 

Video 4: Mime/acting for ballets, Splits, Grand Reverance. Tell us something using mime or show us a grand reverance in the form of a character. 

How involved am I? I will respond to every video submission with tips for improvement and encouragement to keep working!
