We will examine flower specimens and identify four major parts of the flower, talk about function, and location of the parts. We will focus on creating original drawings inspired by our reference. To create these drawings we will talk about shading, shape, texture, and drawing from observation. Learners will not have homework. Previous experience with drawing is helpful but not required. Learners will go away with an original drawing and the inspiration to observe and examine the flowers they see every day.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Understanding that the classroom is all around us, both indoors and out, I strive to ensure that learners are given the tools to take their artistic exploration with them wherever they go. I love to encourage drawing from observation, and observation of the world around us. I want more than for your learner to be able to identify and draw a flower in this class, I want for them to then have the tools and excitement to do this again and again and again with all aspects of the world they explore.
