Looking for an opportunity to build your artistic problem solving skills and experiment with art supplies you have at home? Join me in this ongoing art club where we explore the art supplies you have each week and combine that with randomly chosen subject matter to create a unique class experience and one of a kind art exploration. In this class learners will be asked to arrive with 3 different types of art supplies. Art supplies such as pencil crayons, markers, pens, pencils, watercolours, paint pens, pastels, crayons and more, will be welcome and used together to explore key techniques and concepts. Learners will help choose a randomly selected technique or subject and explore those concepts using the items they brought to class. Here's an example of what that might look like: Each student has brought 3 different art materials to class. A random number generator will be used to select the concentration for that week. The teacher and the learners will work together to explore the randomly selected concentration using the art materials they brought to class. Concentrations that may be selected at random include but are not limited to: Portrait Still Life Landscape Colour Theory Linear Perspective Atmospheric Perspective 3 Panel Narrative Visual Hierarchy Line and Texture Negative Space Contour Light and Shadow Composition Finished artwork is a nice goal but the mixed media exploration and concentration for each week will be our focus. Art created during class would be considered an 'exercise' in technique and concept. This class would be ideal for learners who are already committed to a personal art practice and looking to further their creative process. Learners who are becoming familiar with new art supplies and enjoy mixed media are also going to enjoy this class. Learners in this class will want to be comfortable being on camera and speaking as this will be the preferred means of communication throughout the class.

" With a focus on traditional media, old and new art techniques and a core understanding of the principals and elements of art and design, I strive to give learners the tools they need to not only be successful artists but to facilitate the ability to apply those tools to creative thinking and discovery outside the classroom. In this classroom we are co-learners and we explore the course material together. " - Sharon Ross
