Beginner Level
Throughout this course learners will be guided through four lessons focused on honesty. Each of the four lessons were designed to focus on elements which will ensure learners master the practice and understanding of honesty. Starting in lesson one with the definition of honesty. Lessons two and three were created to allow learners to practice working with examples of honesty. Finally in lesson four learners will be able to create their own story about honesty. This will demonstrate their knowledge of the concept and how to apply it to the world around them. 

Each of the four lessons will follow the same format. Beginning with vocab introduction and review, then the main activity for this lesson, ending with summary and review section. 

The lessons each includes various types of activities such as discussion, video, or interactive. 

Lesson 1: How about Honesty-
 
*Introduce Vocabulary: 
Songs and videos will be used to engage students with the new vocabulary
*Display Concept: 
Interactive game will increase understanding of the new vocabulary
*Review Vocabulary: 
A coloring sheet that can be referred to throughout the unit as a tool for learners as they master the vocabulary

Lesson 2: Bear to be Honest-

*Review Vocabulary: 
Discuss and review information from the previous lesson using the songs from lesson one.
*Video Example: 
While viewing an excerpt from an episode of The Bearingstien Bears, learners will be able to practice identifying examples of honesty. 
Using a worksheet and interactive slides, students can play a game identifying examples of honesty. 
* Review Examples: 
Learners will be able to review concepts practiced in throughout the lesson. 

Lesson 3: Harry Honesty
*Review Vocabulary: 
Discuss the definition of honesty with previously taught songs. 
Discuss the video example of honesty from the previous class.
*Social Story: 
Introduce Harry Honesty and his story about honesty. 
Play a game to help Harry make the honest choice. 
*Review: 
Discuss why Harry made honest choices. 
Review definition with previously learned song. 

Lesson 4: Honesty Heroes
*Review Vocabulary: 
Discuss the definition of honesty with previously taught songs. 
Discuss the video example of honesty from the previous class.
*Storyboard: 
Learners will be led through a review activity 
Learners will be introduced to the story activity
Learners will be guided through a brainstorming activity 
Learners will be able to use their understanding of honesty and previously explored examples to create their own story. 
*Review: 
Discuss why Harry made honest choices. 
Review definition with previously learned song.

Lesson 1:
How about Honesty?
 This lesson serves as an introduction to the Honesty Unit. Providing the definition of honesty in a way that is developmentally appropriate. Using a trivia game to practice the definition of honesty. 
Lesson 2:
Bare to Be Honest
 This lesson provides learners with the opportunity to use their understanding of the definition of honesty in order to identify examples of honesty using stories and videos. 
Lesson 3:
Help Harry Honesty
 This lesson provides learners with the opportunity to practice identifying honesty using props, social stories, and games. 
Lesson 4:
Honesty Hero
 This lesson provides learners with the opportunity to use their previously practiced skills an their knowledge of honesty in order to create their own story and example of honesty.

Learning Needs
This course is designed to use visuals and break down complex topics into manageable steps. The actives are easily diversified to meet the learner's needs.
Parental Guidance
In this course learners will practice character development and social skills relating to problem solving.
Supply List
Lesson one includes a interactive experiment where students can follow along and place a coin in a container, then fill a container with glitter (or another non transparent object). Then in a second container they will place another coin and fill it with water. We will discuss what happens to the coin in both containers. 

Items Needed: 
2 containers
2 coins 
small cup of water 
small cup of glitter (or non transparent object) 

Other lessons will include a coloring sheet which can be done at the end of class or outside of class.

Teacher expertise and credentials
This course focuses on character trait skills which are useful across various settings and at all ages. I have had more than 3 years of experience teaching lessons regarding character trait skills a school counselor. I have taught these topics using multiple different curriculum programs that align with most state standards for Character Learning or Social Emotional Learning. Previously, I spent time teaching a special education pre- school class where there was a heavy focus on character learning and emotional development.
