I have taught High School Anatomy in traditional schools for 5 years, and the past year I have taught various 3-6 week courses on different Anatomy topics on Outschool. Lastly, I have tutored for the curriculum online this past year as well.
Homework Offered
Homework will be Lab summaries or answering questions evaluating understanding of the lab. Additionally, students will be asked to practice labeling or vocabulary as part of the lectures.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
Optional weekly participation grades, weekly homework quizzes, midterm exam after week 4 and final exam after week 9Grades Offered
Week 1: Human Body 1 whole pickle 6-8 toothpicks A paper plate A plastic or glass plate to catch pickle juice A butter knife Week 2: Integumentary System A balloon Washable marker Toothpick Ice cube/cold water Week 3: Skeletal System Ice water in a large container only 1/4 full Several books 20 sheet of scrap paper A toothpick Week 4: Muscular System (the lab timer and information will be provided) Students will be asked to walk in place, jog, and a few other minor movements Use a large container 1/4 full of cold/ice water Hold a textbook Do seated hand movements Week 5 - The Circulatory System I will model a crime scene lab and students will analyze the blood samples (fake blood). Then students will do an interactive activity online, and practice solving problems for blood type. Optional at home blood test kit from Amazon https://www.amazon.com/Original-Home-Blood-Typing-Kit/dp/B07X4X7LDR/ref=sr_1_4?keywords=home+blood-typing+kit&qid=1659567029&sr=8-4 Week 6 The Digestive System This lab is optional using cereal, a bag, a large bowl, water, food coloring, pantyhose, and a disposable bag to rid of the waste product. There will also be a virtual lab in a demonstrative lab. Week 7 The Respiratory System Breathing rate lab. A balloon is needed to demonstrate a chest rise and fall slow/normal breathing and after walking in place. Breathing rate will be pressured seated and standing. Stopwatch and data sheet are provided Week 8 The Excretory System - virtual urine analysis lab, interactive activities and games. No supplies needed. Week 9 - The Nervous System virtual labs online labeling, brain games and activities. Optional printable brain hat for labeling and color coding.

Note about curriculum------------ Is this a full year course? I would say it can be built to be one,, but not entirely as a stand alone.. This class covers a majority of the curriculum for High School Anatomy and Physiology. Topics not covered - reproductive system, lymphatic system and endocrine system in complete detail, these are just introduced in lesson 1 as body systems. This class also does not go into much detail about the special senses. We touch on the topic but we do not go into specifics. I do offer separate one time courses for the special senses but I do not currently have listings for reproductive, lymphatic, and endocrine systems. I do offer the material for these lessons but they are not live lessons. I am happy to grade practice and homework if students want to do independent study on these. Note about labs--------------------- The lab that is optional for the circulatory system is a blood kit students can purchase on Amazon and use to test their blood at home. This would be using their own blood and they would prick their finger with a lancelot *this is not painful at all*. Again, this is optional, students will not be required to do this, but if they want to I will guide then without showing my finger bleeding on the screen.
