🌺Welcome to the Activity-Based Thai Language Club🇹🇭😊! 🤔 What can you expect in this class? -Kids will get exposure to Thai language and culture taught by a native speaker. -Always small sized-class (1-4 kids). -Always hands-on and activities-based. -Kids' learning will be focused in the most natural and effective learning order. 1. Listening to Thai (*This class’s focus) 2. Speaking Thai (*This class’s focus) 3. Reading Thai (*we will be learning 1 alphabet each day to build up knowledge preparing for reading) 4. Writing Thai (*we will be learning 1 alphabet each day to build up knowledge preparing for reading) *If your kid is more beginner or advanced, different age than offered or would like to request a more specific-level or private class, pleases let me know. Each week activity will be different. I will post the classroom announcement if we need to prepare any materials ahead of class. Here is our weekly breakdown. ⇢ Week 1: Thai Idol Show [making Thai Leis] ⇢ Week 2: Thai Giant Drawing ⇢ Week 3: Floating Market/ Science of water ⇢ Week 4: Rice Right! ✏️ General outline of this class -Greeting in Thai 🙏(Different for male and female speaker). -I will read one pictured-children book. - Number/sound of alphabet game -*Kahoot -Activity of the day-One letter sound will be picked for the day according to the theme. -*Post-Assessment-*Kahoot 〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️ 🤔 Q&A Ms.Simpson's Teaching Style My teaching style is very high energy. I am animated and can't hide my excitement when my students make any big or small progress in their learning😊. I truly believe in checking students understanding, so I always stop and ask questions. 🌎How do I approach teaching Thai to a kid who is growing up outside of Thailand? 🎇There are two main keys here. *First is 100% belief in human ability to learn, especially kids at young age. *Second is repetition. *Maybe, third is for kids to have fun ;-) My focus is for learners to be able to know as much vocabulary as they can through repeated listening and speaking. It is a lot easier and meaningful for learners to learn how to read and write (later) when they have a solid foundation of what exactly they are reading/writing. 🎆I love teaching. I am so lucky to have found Outschool! Thanks to this platform, I get to interact with and teach many wonderful and fascinating kids from all over the world every day! 📧If you have any questions, send me a message. I am excited to work with your child, and I mean that truly!

🎓 Ms. Simpson's Qualifications
Math:
I have a Bachelor of Science in Food Engineering from Thailand and a Master of Science in Agricultural Engineering from University of Georgia, USA. I worked as an a research engineer at Idaho National Laboratory, developing thermal processes and technologies for cleaner and cheaper bio-energy🌱
I have two years experience as a junior high math (full-time) teacher and a year as an interventionist (certified secondary level III: Utah State Board of Education).
🇹🇭 Thai:
I was born and raised in Thailand. I moved here when I was 24. My son, who is now almost 8 years old, is fluent in both English and Thai (listening and speaking). His reading and writing skills (both languages) are progressing really well. We live in Utah , USA. Learning the language that only a fraction of people in your surrounding use can be challenging. I have been teaching Thai to my son since he was born. We have these 3-4 other Thai kids that have been learning Thai with him since he was about 3 years old. With this group of kids, we always learn Thai through activities and playing, as I truly believe kids learn things best when they enjoy it.
