Class Experience

US Grade 4 - 7
Become a Grammar Scout! Through this fun 4 week camp, improve your ELA and writing skills while building a creative and interactive grammar guidebook. As students create and craft their notebooks, they will be engaged in a meaningful note-taking format that fosters a deeper understanding of writing and grammar. They can have as much fun and be as creative as they want when designing their pages with interactive flip tabs, colors, etc. Once completed, the grammar notebook becomes a clever study-guide and reference material that they can continue to use for years.

There are NO live meetings for this class. It may be viewed and completed at your convenience. Each lesson will receive a step-by-step guide video from me. Within this class video, I will introduce the lesson topic, walk students through crafting their notebook page, while also providing notes and activities to teach that week's grammatical subject. After completing their notebook pages with me, there will be recommended assignments listed to provide additional practice. Activities may include worksheets, graded assessments with feedback, posters, games, and other similar learning-focused experiences. Optional homework will ask students to share an image of their completed notebook pages with me if they would like feedback on their notes.

Part 3 of our series covers everything students need to know about using nouns within their writing. We'll use this 4 week "All About Nouns" course to introduce and practice the various types of nouns, including: common vs proper nouns, concrete vs abstract nouns, plural nouns, and possessive nouns. Students will find themselves referencing these rules for years to come as they complete written assignments in various subjects!

This class is about having fun and expressing creativity while learning grammar skills. My teaching style will mirror this in a low pressure setting where I model the joys of learning. I am thorough and try to fully explain everything with instructional slides, videos, and examples. I'm also always available if they need help or have additional questions. I look forward to students learning a love for grammar through this class.

**This is Part 3 within our Grammar Interactive Notebook Series containing 7 self-paced units each contained within its own boot camp style class listing on Outschool. Each unit is dedicated to specific grammar topics, such as verbs, phrases, and more. It is recommended to follow the units in numerical order. This allows for the students' notebooks and table of contents to match my own. You can use this link to start with PART 1 of our Grammar Guidebook series: [ https://outschool.com/classes/grammar-interactive-notebook-part-1-grammar-rules-boot-camp-ela-writing-rsAlfjfX ]. The content is designed to complement regular English Language Arts instruction for grades 4-8.**

Supply List
A spiral or composition notebook: This will be consistently used in each lesson as their grammar guidebook. It is best that it be exclusively used for this class and only include items from our lessons.

Glue: Liquid school glue tends to work better than glue sticks. Items placed with glue sticks tend to dry out and peel off.

Pencil and eraser: For notes and paper assignments

Colored pencils or markers: Some notebook assignments require color coding and/or students may like to add color to personalize their notebook pages

Print-outs provided by teacher: Please have them printed and accessible for each lesson
