US Grade 3 - 6
Beginner Level
Logic puzzles utilize table graphs and clues to foster deductive reasoning and critical thinking skills. In this class, students will be introduced to the features of these tables, solve a variety of puzzles, and even begin creating their own. These skills help in a variety of subjects, especially math. The class topics are structured to build so that even beginner students that have never seen a logic puzzle can learn the joy and fun of solving them. We first introduce the basic concepts with very small, simple puzzles before building to intermediate and complex puzzles in later lessons. This class is about having fun! My teaching style will mirror this in a low pressure setting where I model the joys of learning. I will provide instructional slides, videos, and examples. I look forward to students sharing their puzzle creations with me so that I can solve them!
Learning Goals
Students will utilize deductive reasoning and critical thinking skills to solve logic puzzles. They will then apply this practice to create their own.
