Beginner Level
In this class, students will learn the parts of speech and the parts of the sentence through diagramming and games. Understanding the parts of speech and parts of the sentence will help students understand sentence structure and will prepare them to learn grammar and usage rules. Each week in class, students will learn the parts of speech and the parts of the sentence through diagramming, and they will play a game or two to solidify what they learn. Students will have up to 30 minutes of homework during Week 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, and 7. During Week 4 and Week 8, homework may take up to an hour and a half as students will complete a mid-course quiz during Week 4 and an end-of-course test during Week 8. To ensure that students are mastering concepts, students who score lower than 85% on the quiz or test will be required to make corrections until the concepts are mastered
