Class Experience

Welcome! In this one time class, learners are invited to bring their favorite fidgets. We will talk about why we like them, what the different fidgets are, and find out about some we've never seen before! There are so many different options for fidgets. Learners will be encouraged to take turns and listen to their peers favorites. Communication skill and taking turns will be stressed in this fun filled class. I will bring a variety of fidgets and probably a couple of furry friends to join us in class. While students will be encouraged to share, it is not required if a student is not comfortable being put on the spot.

Learning Goals

Students will practice discussion skills, taking turns, listening to their peers.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello. My name is Erin. I have been a homeschooling mom for the last 7 years to my son, Christopher, who has autism and anxiety. I live in Western New York with my husband, my son, and our pets. Cookie is our dog. We have 6 cats - Olaf, Elsa, Midnight, Nico, Bonnie and Clyde. Usually one of them will pop into class to say hello.

I enjoy teaching on Outschool and getting to know children from all over the world. I provide a friendly and welcoming environment for my classes. We take a very eclectic approach to teaching leaning more toward a classical style.

I enjoy teaching classes that focus on social skills, reading social cues, communication skills, and friendly peer interaction. I offer a safe and friendly environment for all children. If a child is reserved and prefers to have their camera off, once verification is complete, that child is welcome to turn their camera off.

I have previously taught in 2 different homeschool co-ops to children of a variety of ages and abilities. Throughout that time, I have learned many ways to engage with children and encourage participation.
