Class Experience

What's in the bag? Come and use your detective skills to find out. Students will be given clues to guess what is in the bag. I will guide them to ask specific questions to help them solve the mystery. They will get to work together to figure out what is in the bag. I will then demonstrate some public speaking skills while I share my special object. Each student will get to share a favorite item. PLEASE HAVE YOUR CHILD PUT THEIR SHOW AND TELL IN A BAG OR A BOX. Each student will be guided to give glues and ask questions as they take turns guessing each others show and tell. When the item is guessed the child will have the opportunity to tell the others about their show and tell item. I will encourage them to use the skills they have learned. This class will help them practice their listening and speaking skills.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! My name is Amy Kent. I have been teaching children for nearly my entire life. I love helping children grow to love learning about the world! I am excited to teach classes to young learners to get them ready for school. I enjoy working with children of all ages. I love to read and look forward to hosting a book club for young learners.
I graduated from Southern Utah University. I earned a double major in elementary education and special education. I have a minor in child development. I have over 20 years experience. My first job was teaching Kindergarten. I incorporated reading, math, and science into my lessons. Not only did they learn their ABC's, but they were introduced to a variety of topics including gravity and space! My next experience was organizing and teaching a neighborhood preschool. I have worked with the children K-12 as a substitute teacher and online. I also volunteered at the local elementary school to help students improve their reading skills. I teach ESL online and I have my TESOL certificate. I have taught children cooking, sewing, and craft classes in our local 4-H program. I enjoy working with all age groups. I just love teaching!
I live in a small town. I have a great husband and five wonderful children. I love teaching, reading, children, crafts and exploring. I like to hike, swim and see new places with my family. I look forward to teaching your child in the classroom.
