In this on-going class, learners will be invited to participate in weekly conversation with other homeschooled children. Each week, learners will have the opportunity to answer several ice breaker questions and warm up for their day. Each week will consist of a combination of the following: 1) Day of the Week & Date 2) Weather check-in 3) Weekly Quote - taken from various well-known quotes 4) Geographic Location including time 5) Pets 6) Hobbies/Interest 7) Currently reading 8) Countdown to vacation/break 9) Would you rather questions 10) Current Events (regional or national) Week 1 - (9/4/24) - Welcome and get to know me! Week 2 - (9/11/24) - Would you rather questions Week 3 - (9/18/24) - Pets, Pets, Pets Week 4 - (9/25/24) - Hobbies and Interests Students will be encouraged to share any exciting news or interesting facts that they've learned throughout the previous week. In addition, students will be able to ask questions and select questions or topics for future sessions. This is a great opportunity for students to work on communication skills and taking turns. As a homeschool mom, I know that these types of conversations can open doors to great friendships.
Learning Goals
Students will be able to chat with other homeschooled children throughout the world. This will be a great opportunity for them to interact, make friends, and find common interests. We will work on decision making and communication skills & taking turns.
