Profile
Teacher expertise and credentials
I believe that in this world every human has a special attribute to share. It is my job as a teacher to facilitate my students’ needs and help them achieve their maximum potential by providing a learning environment in which questioning, investigating, risk-taking and sharing ideas with peers is encouraged. As opposed to direct instruction, the three key ingredients to a productive learning environment are:
•	Teaching as a facilitator.
•	Fostering students’ natural inquisitiveness and intellect to meet his/her intellectual pursuits.
•	Respecting peers’ perspective and learning to work diplomatically and cooperatively with others.
As a facilitator, I permit my students to research independently rather than supplying them with learning materials. For students to realize their interests, they need time for themselves to practice skills in real-life situations. By allowing the students to work in a hands-on environment, an opportunity for self-discovery and a deeper understanding of a topic is created.
Creating lessons around the students’ interest meets the intrinsic motivation and inspires that passion to learn. When learners take full ownership, they are inspired to work harder and master the skills necessary to reach their learning goals.
Allowing students to share their concerns and opinions freely enables them to deepen their understanding of others and feel confident about themselves. Class debates and discussions are just one way to create a dialogue. Students gain a deeper respect for themselves and the teacher when they feel safe in an open-minded environment.
Being an educator gives me the opportunity for constant growth. I believe that when I am passionate about learning it resonates with my students. Once I feel that I have instilled the concept of learning is lifetime passion, I know that I have met my goal as a teacher.
