This is the second semester of Second Grade ELA. In reading, we will study informational text, make connections in scientific writing, use text features to answer questions, read fables, compare and contrast character's viewpoints, and retell stories. In writing, we will explore writing opinion and informational paragraphs, shared research of informational text, capitalization rules, compound sentences, and formal and informal writing. Our class will begin with a discussion, modeling from me, group work, and independent work. We will also play learning games, watch videos usually created by myself, and read books. Some of these books will be online.
