Class Experience

Students will develop their communication skills in French. This course is for beginners, please check out the list of subjects below and if your learner(s) does (do) not know the vocabulary about them, then this course fits well for them. This is a course for beginners, this is the third part of "French Beginner 2"  and students who took that course will expand their basic knowledge in French. Students will learn important basic vocabulary to communicate in the target language. PowerPoint presentation, videos, songs, props, games (bingo, crafts, etc.) and creative activities  will be used in this class. Students will have assignments to study what they learn in class.
Students will broaden their vocabulary and develop their ability to understand new words. Students will have the opportunity to explore the language through games, songs and rhymes and link the spelling, sound and meaning of words. Students will identify key features and patterns of basic French grammar. Students will learn vocabulary and will tell the weather, name countries and will use the appropriate article and conjugation of the verb "aller" (to go), students will practice vocabulary related to hobbies. In the previous courses students have learnt the numbers 0 to 40 and during this course students will continue learning counting from 40 to 100. Students will make a banner to wish happy birthday in French and they will also learn the grammar structure to say and write the date where they will use their previous knowledge such as days, numbers and months. Students will learn the past tense and future tense in the third person of the verb "to be" to express the date in past and future. Students will learn how to describe food using words such as, salty, sweet, tasty. Vocabulary related to food will be learnt and a variety of drinks such as how to say hot chocolate, tea, juice.   Students will be able to use simple sentences in French connected to certain themes studied in class and will write sentences using prepositions. Students will be able to answer questions orally, using a modelled sentence. Reviews are important parts of this course as they will help students to reinforce  knowledge that they get during this course. It is essential to print out and have ready the material sent by the teacher as this will support learners to get the most of the classes.

 I am multilingual, with a Bachelor’s  Degree in Foreign Language Teacher Education and an Early Childhood Education Diploma. I speak Spanish, French, and English. I have also attended the following workshops/trainings in Canada: Science of Early Childhood Development-Play, Science of Early Childhood Development-Language and Literacy, Science of Early Childhood Development-Introductory Level, Transition Planning Intermediate Level, and Adult Education-Intermediate level. I have been teaching French and Spanish languages for over eight years. My students range from toddlers to adults. I have lived and worked in France and Mexico.  Currently, I live  in Canada.
 I offer the following skills: Ability to engage students from a wide range of backgrounds, interactive lesson plans, good interpersonal  skills and a passion for languages. I am an active listener and team player. I like to do crafting and science experiments with my family. I also enjoy learning to cook different kind of dishes, lately I have made Asian dishes such as brown rice and eggplant. I like travelling and I have learnt  the culture of the languages that I teach where the languages that I speak are the mother tongues.
