Bonjour and welcome to Level 1 Intermediate French! This class is designed for elementary and middle school beginning to intermediate French students. This class assumes prior knowledge. If I have not had your student in previous levels, I may message you directly to assess if this class is appropriate for your learner. Students should have an understanding of: greetings, pronouns, conjugation of verbs (including irregular verbs avoir and être), alphabet, colors, numbers, and basic grammar such as gender of nouns. This course focuses on using basic vocabulary, grammar, and verbs to begin speaking more independently and confidently. In the intermediate level, students will begin to focus more on grammar and building fluency around everyday subjects. Level 1 will follow the theme "Mes Journées" "My Daily Life". By focusing on one theme, learners will be able to practice vocabulary in different scenarios as well as begin to focus on specific grammar. This level will focus less on introducing new vocabulary than previous levels so that students can focus on building fluency with vocabulary and grammar. Learners will be provided notes before class and will be most confident if they study the vocabulary and grammar before class. Class 1 Vocabulary Focus: Things I Do Grammar Focus: Negative Sentences; Irregular Verbs Avoir, Être, Aller Class 2 Vocabulary Focus: Daily Routine Grammar Focus: Reflexive Verbs Class 3 Vocabulary Focus: Daily Routine Practice Grammar Focus: Reflexive Verbs Practice Class 4 Vocabulary Focus: My Favorite Things Grammar Focus: Plurals (Including Irregular Plurals), Irregular Verb Faire Class 5 Vocabulary Focus: My Favorite Things Grammar Focus: Possessive Adjectives, Possessive Pronouns Class 6 Vocabulary Focus: Hanging with My Friends Grammar Focus: Adverbs Class 7 Vocabulary Focus: Hanging with My Friends Grammar Focus: Gerunds and Using "En Train De" Class 8 Vocabulary Focus: Talking about my Day Grammar Focus: Comparative Adjectives & Superlatives
