Important Note: Students need to know multiplication facts to be successful in the reducing fractions portion of this workshop. If your student is not proficient in the multiplication facts, please sign up for one of my Red or Yellow Fractions Workshops. Topics covered will be simple reducing fractions, adding fractions, and subtracting fractions. Lesson will be presented through a PowerPoint presentation. Teacher will have students volunteer to read slides. Then, teacher will give further instruction, examples, etc. Students will participate in each step by answering teacher's questions and working out problems on their screens and on their scratch paper showing their work to the class on their webcams.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I have taught math online for the past 10 years, and one area of constant struggle for learners is fractions. I have found that once the concepts are taught simply in clear step-by-step instruction and the student is given many opportunities to practice in a no-stress environment, the lightbulb goes off and confidence improves. I have successfully used this no-nonsense strategy with many of my past students. Allowing them to be heard, ask questions, and be continually engaged keeps them interested. Once they get the basics down, the frills can be added with ease.
