Fashion Design & Art!

Welcome to the exciting world of fashion design! In this engaging and hands-on fashion design class for kids, budding fashionistas will have the opportunity to unleash their creativity and explore the art of designing clothes.

Throughout the course, young designers will learn the fundamentals of fashion design. Learner will be sketching their ideas on paper and bringing them to life. They will discover the importance of color, texture, and pattern in creating unique and eye-catching designs.

I will guide students through various design techniques, teaching them how to sketch their ideas, develop fashion illustrations, and even guides on color schemes. Through fun and interactive activities, kids will gain a deeper understanding of fashion trends, garment construction, and the importance of personal style.

Collaboration and self-expression will be encouraged as students work on individual projects and participate in showcasing their designs to their peers. They will have the opportunity to showcase their creations in a mini fashion show, where they can proudly present their unique designs to their peers and families.

No prior experience is required for this class. Whether your child dreams of becoming a fashion designer or simply wants to explore their creative side, this fashion design class will provide a nurturing and inspiring environment for them to learn and grow.

Class Breakdown: 
3-5 Minutes - Discuss our fashion preferences and experience
10-22 Minutes - Design and draw (I will draw a different outfit that students are welcome to copy as I will work on it step-by-step with my document camera on for students to follow along)
5-8 Minutes - We will share our designs with each other 

** Prior to the first class, I will provide a copy of a couple of body figure drawings for the artist to be able to draw the clothing onto it. 

Week of February 12th - Design a ball gown dress
Week of February 26th - Design an a-line dress
Week of March 4th - Design a mermaid dress
Week of March 11th - Design a pencil dress
Week of March 18th - Design a fit and flare dress
Week of March 25th - Design a halter dress
