Join our ongoing Fashion Design and Technique Club, where students will explore fashion sketching, silhouettes, garment construction, and creative techniques. Whether you're a beginner or refining your skills, this club provides the perfect space to grow your fashion illustration and design expertise. ✍️ What You’ll Learn: ✔️ Master different fashion styles & silhouettes ✔️ Understand human anatomy & form for fashion sketching ✔️ Draw garment structures & customize details ✔️ Experiment with various art mediums – digital & traditional ✔️ Enhance creativity with inspiration from different eras 🖌 Flexible Drawing Approach: Students may use a Croquis (fashion figure) provided or their own as a base template. Express your unique style after learning each technique, or follow step-by-step sketching guidance—whichever suits you best! Choose any drawing tools you’re comfortable with, from pencil & paper to digital illustration software like Procreate. I demonstrate different techniques using digital brushes, showcasing watercolor for soft silhouettes, pastels for bold looks, and more. 🏛 Club Structure – Interactive & Engaging: 📌 Warm-up & Sharing – Students check in, discuss progress, and share sketches 📌 Reference & Inspiration – Learn about the history, context, and design techniques behind the day’s reference 📌 Live Step-by-Step Draw-Along – Follow a guided fashion illustration demo 📌 Self-Directed Creative Time – Work on personal projects with instructor support 📌 Feedback & Discussion – Share your work for gentle critique and tips 🌟 Why Join? With my background in Art, Graphic Design, Fashion Design, and Illustration, I have a well rounded experience portfolio to share with my students. I am currently an Art teacher and Graphic Designer. Formerly, Fashion Design and Illustration for 9+ years in NYC.
After graduating from Fashion Institute of Technology, I worked in Womenswear on Fashion Avenue (7th Ave) for many years. Fashion Design has a lot of technical aspects that most students don't realize, it's not about just drawing beautiful clothing, it's about knowing why and how stitching and fabric textures flow and fold also. I'm confident your student will gain a ton of knowledge.
