Math in Focus Singapore Math gives students time to master foundational topics needed for first grade. Singapore Math teaches students math with concrete, pictures, and finally applying their knowledge to solve problems.
In this class, students will receive explicit instruction and explore math concepts for the kindergarten curriculum. The students will actively participate during class and verbalize their thinking process. Kindergarten students will be introduced to new...1. Students will use concrete models and pictures to create sets. 2. Students will compose and decompose numbers to 20. 3. Students will learn the place values up to 20. 4. Students will compare and order numbers to 20. 5. Students will compare sets of objects to 20. 6. Students will learn about basic solid figures and flat shapes. 7.Students will skip count by 2’s, 5’s, 10’s.
I have taught Singapore Math in my classroom for over fifteen years. I have received training through my district and have tutored K -4th grade in Singapore Math. I have taught math virtually for three years to ESL and homeschool students.
