In this lesson, students will learn to design custom posters that reflect their favorite movies, bands, or causes they are passionate about. The lesson will cover the use of color, fonts, and images. Students will create a poster and share their designs with the class for feedback and discussion.
Lesson 3
Creating Album Covers
This session focuses on designing album covers. Students will learn about layout, typography, and imagery, focusing on how these elements work together to create an appealing design. They will design an album cover for a fictional band or their favorite music genre and participate in a peer review session to exchange feedback.
Lesson 4
Designing Personal Logos
Students will dive into the world of branding by designing their personal logos. This lesson will cover the significance of shapes, colors, and typography in logo creation. Students will create a logo that represents their personal brand or interests and discuss their design choices with the class.
Lesson 5
Advanced Design Techniques and Introduction to Animation
The final lesson will explore advanced design techniques and introduce basic animations in Canva. Students will discuss the impact of visual hierarchy and balance in design, create a poster for an upcoming school or community event, and get a brief introduction to creating simple animations. The week will conclude with a review of all projects and a showcase of student work.
