In this one-time class, Canva beginners will build a foundation for their graphic design skills. This class will use the free program: canva.com. This class is perfect for the novice graphic designer who has never used Canva before. We will look at the basic features of Canva to create an image. During our class, we will begin by discussing graphic design basics (definition, purposes, and examples). Next, we will discuss the goal for our class time: create an incredible image. Then we will go to canva.com together and walk through step-by-step how to create a graphic using basic features. All students MUST have a Canva account set up prior to class.

Parental Guidance
This class requires the use of the FREE online program, Canva. In order to create an account, you must be age 13 and up. Please visit canva.com to create an account with your child prior to our first class. You do not need to pay for Canva Pro. We will use the free version.
Supply List
A device to run Zoom and Canva. Optional: two devices, one to run Zoom and one to run Canva. It is required to use Canva in a web browser like Chrome or Safari rather the app for mobile devices. Create an account at canva.com (free version).

Hello! I am Ms. Laura. I have 15 years of experience working with children. I volunteered with children in the community for 5 years and have taught in the classroom for 5 years (Preschool-8th grade), and have been teaching in the online classroom for 5 years! I have a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education (2014) and a Master’s degree in Technology Enhanced Teaching (2018).
I love learning and teaching! My favorite topics are graphic design and science. Authentic learning is my favorite mode of education.
