Instructional Approach:
Basic Language Skills (BLS) curriculum follows a multisensory, explicit, and cumulative teaching method, engaging visual, auditory, and kinesthetic pathways to reinforce learning. Lessons are structured to build foundational skills progressively, ensuring mastery before introducing new concepts.

Who Should Enroll:
This course is designed for students diagnosed with dyslexia or those exhibiting characteristics of dyslexia. It is also beneficial for students who struggle with reading, spelling, or writing due to language-based learning differences.

Key Components:
-Phonological Awareness – Strengthening sound recognition and manipulation skills.
-Alphabetic Principle – Understanding letter-sound relationships for decoding and encoding.
-Syllable Types and Division – Teaching structured methods to break down and read multisyllabic words.
-Spelling Rules and Patterns – Explicit instruction in spelling rules to enhance written language skills.
-Reading Fluency and Comprehension – Developing automatic word recognition and strategies for understanding text.
-Morphology, Grammar, and Syntax – Expanding language skills through the study of word structure and sentence formation.

Key Features of the Virtual Model Approach:
-Live, Interactive Sessions – Students work with a Certified Academic Language Therapist (CALT) and licensed dyslexia therapist (LDT) via video conferencing to receive direct, explicit instruction.

-Multisensory Learning Online – Incorporates digital whiteboards, virtual manipulatives, screen-sharing, and hands-on activities that engage visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learning pathways.

-Structured, Systematic Instruction – Follows a sequential, cumulative approach, just like in-person therapy, ensuring students build on mastered skills before progressing.

-Individualized Support – Lessons are tailored to the student’s specific needs, with real-time feedback and progress monitoring.

-Flexible and Accessible – Provides dyslexia tutoring to students regardless of location, making high-quality lessons available to children anywhere.

-Parental Involvement & Home Practice – Encourages parents to support learning by providing resources, guidance, and reinforcement strategies outside of therapy sessions.
