Are you ready to brave the frozen wilds of The Spine of the World? In this beginner-friendly Dungeons & Dragons (D&D 5e) course, students will learn the fundamentals of the game while embarking on an epic adventure set in the frigid, mountainous region of the Forgotten Realms.

Over nine weeks, players will create characters, learn game mechanics, and explore the dangers hidden within this legendary landscape. No prior experience is needed—just bring your imagination and sense of adventure!

The Story Begins…
A blizzard rages across The Spine of the World, cutting off trade routes and threatening the survival of small frontier settlements. Whispers speak of an ancient force awakening beneath the ice, disturbing the balance of the region. The adventurers—new heroes seeking fame, fortune, or survival—must navigate frozen tundras, negotiate with warring tribes, and uncover the truth hidden deep within the mountains.

Can your party brave the cold, survive treacherous foes, and unravel the mystery of the frozen north?

What We’ll Cover Each Week:
📜 Week 1: Introduction to D&D & Character Creation – Build your character and learn the fundamentals of D&D 5e.
🎲 Week 2: Understanding Dice Rolls & Game Mechanics – Master ability checks, combat rolls, and saving throws.
🗺️ Week 3: Roleplaying & Exploration – Learn how to interact with the world, make choices, and engage in immersive storytelling.
⚔️ Week 4: Combat Training in the Frozen Wilds – Learn how to fight, cast spells, and strategize in battle.
🏔️ Week 5-8: The Spine of the World Campaign – Embark on a guided adventure featuring hidden ruins, ancient magic, and deadly enemies.
📝 Week 9: Grand Finale & Next Steps – Conclude the adventure, reflect on lessons learned, and discuss how to continue playing D&D.

Class Format
🔹 Live Play Sessions – Each class includes structured learning followed by a guided adventure.
🔹 Beginner-Friendly Gameplay – I will serve as the Dungeon Master (DM), ensuring a smooth and fun experience for all players.
🔹 Small Group Collaboration – Players will work together as a team to navigate challenges, solve mysteries, and defeat enemies.
🔹 Encouraging & Inclusive Environment – All students are welcome, and no prior experience is needed!

What You’ll Need
✅ A free D&D Beyond account (for digital character sheets)
✅ A set of polyhedral dice (or a digital dice roller)
✅ Access to Zoom with a microphone (a camera is encouraged but not required)
✅ Optional: The Player’s Handbook (D&D 5e) (helpful, but not required)
