Beginner Level
In this class, you will learn all about the most famous artists and some of their most important works! From Van Gogh to Picasso, this is a fun and engaging weekly ongoing class. Each lesson is unique and structured around the story of the artist. We go over their background, their personal style, their famous artworks, and conclude with an interactive session where we get to make our own artwork in the style of that artist! My teaching style is very visual and hands-on, making the learning experience tactile and memorable. This class is a great opportunity not just to learn about art but also unleash your own creativity! LEARNING GOALS: At the end of each lesson, I love to ask students “What is one thing you learned from today?” My goal is not for students to remember all the facts or details about the artists, but rather the overall story, and why their work is important. It’s also my goal to empower my students to become better artists by implementing techniques of the masters. Our weekly artists will be: VAN GOGH MONET DEGAS PISSARO SEURAT ROTHKO DAVINCI DALI KHALO PICASSO KLIMT HOPPER POLLOCK CEZANNE RENOIR WARHOL BANKSY HARING BASQUIAT O'KEEFFE CLASS CONTINUITY: Content does not build. Each lesson will consider a unique artist. SUPPLIES: Students will need their own art supplies. All mediums welcome: i.e. pencils, crayons, markers, paints etc. At the end of each lesson, I love to ask students “What is one thing you learned from today?” My goal is not for students to remember all the facts or details about the artists, but rather the overall story, and why their work is important. I have been working in the design/visual arts world for the last 6 years. From designing websites, to doing personal commissions, art is something I’m very passionate about. I had the chance to live in New York for the last 3 years, and had the opportunity to visit world-renowned museums and galleries such as The Met, MoMA, Guggenheim etc. I also curated an Art Gallery with over 200 artworks from local artists in upstate NY. I’m thrilled to bring my experience to these lessons and share that enthusiasm with my students.
