Want to get started playing Dungeons and Dragons? Look no further. Dungeons and Dragons is is collaborative storytelling game. It is a game of vast possibilities where you learn to think carefully, to plan, to strategize, to persuade, to resolve conflict, and so much more, all while exploring memorable locales, meeting fascinating NPCs, and defeating truly frightening enemies. This class is intended for absolute beginners and will take you from knowing nothing about Dungeons and Dragons to being ready to create your first character (Dungeons and Dragons 102). By the end of this class, students will begin to see the vast options available to them and will run through a scene with me to learn to apply the basic structure to a story. In this introductory class, we will cover the basic structure of Dungeons and Dragons: 1. Description 2. Choice 3. Interpretation and Narrative At the end of this introduction, we will play a quick run-through of the basic structure to be sure you understand it fully and to allow you to begin exploring. At that point, you’ll be ready to move on to Dungeons and Dragons 102: Character Creation.

My first passion is learning. My second passion is teaching. I have taught literature, story, and creative writing for 15 years and have also served as Master Teacher of Literature and Composition, Instructional Coach, Head of Curriculum, and Headmaster.
For a personal snippet, I live on a small homestead with my wife, five children (13, 12, 10, 8, and 8), four dogs, three cats, eleven cows, six sheep, fifty chickens, three pigs, and five 15 rabbits. I love teaching, reading, writing, storytelling, woodworking, playing board games, designing board games, and the great outdoors.
