Learners will explore storytelling, role-playing, and collaborative problem-solving while immersing themselves in the gothic world of Vampire: The Masquerade. They will practice critical thinking, decision-making, and teamwork as they navigate complex narratives and moral dilemmas. What will be covered? The gothic horror genre and its themes, including personal struggle and morality. The rules and mechanics of Vampire: The Masquerade. Social dynamics and intrigue in a fictional historical setting. Role-playing techniques, character development, and collaborative storytelling. How is your class structured? The campaign is structured as an ongoing, interactive narrative. Each session will begin with a recap of prior events, followed by gameplay where learners make choices, solve problems, and advance the story. Time will also be set aside for discussing the game’s themes, mechanics, and any questions learners have. How will you teach? I will use a blend of live role-playing, interactive storytelling, and guided discussion. Learners will engage through character-driven decision-making and collaboration, with prompts to encourage creative thinking and problem-solving. Session recaps and periodic breaks for feedback will ensure everyone remains involved and comfortable. What's your teaching style? My teaching style is engaging, collaborative, and learner-focused. I aim to balance structured gameplay with space for creativity, ensuring all participants feel heard and empowered. I foster a safe and inclusive environment where learners can immerse themselves in the story and explore their characters fully. How much will learners get to interact with you? Learners will have constant interaction with me throughout the sessions. I will guide the story, facilitate discussions, role-play as NPCs, and answer any questions about the game or its themes. Players will interact through in-character dialogue, group decision-making, and collaborative storytelling. Regular feedback and discussions will ensure a dynamic and interactive experience. The campaign will play out like this: The Week of December 1st: Session 0 - we make characters together and go through the safety tools so that everyone can feel comfortable with the playstyle. Week of December 8th: First session of the campaign, the players play their characters, the plot starts Week of December 15th: Second session of the campaign. Plot twists and intrigues ensue, the players will have to handle precarious situations. Week of December 22nd: Third Session of the campaign - the pressure mounts on the characters as they struggle to find a solution that can keep them out of harm's way. They will have to decide which factions to trust and which factions that will be their enemies.

This Vampire: The Masquerade campaign contains themes of gothic horror, personal struggle, and moral dilemmas, including depictions of violence, manipulation, and supernatural threats that may be unsettling to some learners. While the content focuses on storytelling and character-driven narratives, it is designed for mature teens comfortable with these themes. No explicit media content is used, and the game material is presented in an age-appropriate manner, with safety precautions such as content warnings and session zero discussions to establish boundaries. Learners will need a basic understanding of the rules, which will be provided in class, and no external accounts or third-party tools are required.
